For our CENIDE & WIN seminar in March we invited Prof. Venkata Kamalakar Mutta from Uppsala University. 

At Uppsala University Venkata Kamalakar Mutta is an Associate Professor of Quantum Technology in the Department of Physics and Astronomy. There he also leads the Quantum Material Devices Group and coordinates the Quantum Technology Master’s Programme.

In his talk on “Spin Currents in atomically thin materials and interfaces” he present his group’s latest experimental work on 2D spintronic devices based on graphene and MoS₂. More information can be found here.

In addition to his engaging talk, he took the time to spend the day with our PhD students, associate researchers, and principal investigators. There are many points of overlap between our projects and those of his Quantum Material Devices Group.
