From 25 to 31 July 2026, researchers from EMPI-RF, and among these our 2D-MATURE members Ornel José Padilla Estrada and Christof Schulz, participated in the pre-symposium workshops and the 41st International Symposium on Combustion in Kyoto, Japan.
The contributions covered a broad range of research topics, including laser diagnostics, nanoparticle synthesis, chemical kinetics, and iron-particle combustion.
Together with his colleague Can Shao our doctoral researcher Ornel José Padilla Estrada presented a work-in-progress poster on “In Situ UV–Vis Absorption Spectroscopy of Toluene and Acetylene Pyrolysis over a Wide Temperature Range”, which won the best poster award! Contragulations!!

PR Christof Schulz also gave an oral presentation on the “Transformation of Iron Oxide Particles in Flame Synthesis: An Experimental Study in Suspension-Fed Spray Flames”.
We are proud to be part of such inspiring events time and again and to have the opportunity to present our work to the scientific community.
