Last week Graphene 2026, the 16th Edition of the Graphene Conference Series took place. From June 30th till – July 03rd, 2026, part of our international research training group went to Barcelona, Spain, to present their research to the scientific community.

In total our group was represented by ten doctoral researchers, giving six talks and presenting four posters:
Asghar Ali Jan: Adsorption of Lithium on mirror twin grain boundaries in MoS2 monolayer (Talk)
Dennis Schlotthauer: Correlation between defect occupation and threshold voltage in a MoS2-FET (Poster)
Hanna Müller: Excitation-Dependent Raman Modes of Ion-Induced Defects in Monolayer MoSe₂ (Poster )
Jixi Zhang/Noah King: In situ Thermal Degradation of Monolayer MoS2 in Oxygen (Talk)
Mandy Schaffeld: Decoding Growth Conditions: Spatial Temperature Mapping in Carbon-Rich Plasma Flows via NO-LIF (Poster)
Mohammad Amin Saadati Plasma-Derived Si-Doped Graphene as an Anchoring Matrix for Silicon Nanoparticles: Enhancing Interfacial Stability in Li-Ion Anodes (Talk )
Muhammad Ali: Co-gas Phase Synthesis of Si-Graphene Heterostructures for High-Capacity Li-ion Battery (Poster)
Sarah Jankhani: Impact of graphene oxide particle morphology on the extent of exfoliation of reduced graphene oxide during the rapid thermal expansion process (Talk)
Stuart Goldie: Controlling Electrochemical Exfoliation of 2D Nanoflakes for Optimized Performance (Talk)
Yingfang Ding: MOCVD of WS2 monolayers on conductive 4H-SiC for transfer-free vertical device fabrication (Talk)
Thanks for having us – we will definitvly be back next year!
