We are so happy and proud post this news: The first master’s students have successfully completed our 2D-MATURE program!!

In addition to the regular seminar dates, the two students have completed their 4 months stay in Germany and of course participated in our summer schools in Duisburg and Waterloo.

While Tianyu Liu completed his studies at Professor Pope’s lab and was co-supervised by PI Professor Marika Schleberger, he dealt with the ionic liquid movement around graphene in an electrode and enhanced the ionic conductivity and accessibility via the generation of holes and defects in the graphene sheets.

Horace Ingram Looi was supervised by our PIs Professor Kyle Daun and Professor Christof Schulz. In his work he designed and provided a preliminary proof of concept of an in-situ measurement plan using multiple characterization techniques such as TiRe-LII, elastic light scattering (ELS), and line of sight attenuation (LOSA) of GO and rGO aerosols.

A big round of applause to Tianyu Liu and Horace Ingram Looi, who received their master’s certificates last week.
