Congratulations to our doctoral researcher, Lars Grebener, on successfully defending his doctoral thesis, “Scalable Processing for Functional Thin Films”! Supervised by our Principal Researcher Doris Segets, Lars is the first doctoral researcher at the University of Duisburg-Essen (UDE) within 2D-MATURE to complete his doctoral research.

Completing his doctorate in just over three and a half years is an outstanding achievement and an excellent milestone for our International Research Training Group.

As part of the programme’s close collaboration between UDE and the University of Waterloo, Lars of course also spent time in Canada, working with our colleagues William Wong and Michael Pope.

We warmly congratulate Lars and his supervisors on this success and wish him all the best for his future career!
