Within the first week of our hands on training we had the chance to hold the third 2D-MATURE seminar, as Professor Tong Zhu from the Lab of Laser Micro/Nano Fabrication, School of Mechanical Engineering in Beijing’s Institute of Technology (BIT) was visiting UDE. Serving as the Associate Chair of Manufacturing Engineering Department at BIT as well as the Deputy Director of Laser Micro/Nano Fabrication Laboratory at BIT, her research focused on imaging charge carrier dynamics and transport by high spatial-temporal resolution techniques.

Her talk on “Carrier Transport and Charge Transfer Dynamics in 2D Materials and at 2D Heterostructure Interfaces” was a special one in terms of the otherwise hybrid seminar series, because all our Canadian PhD and MASc students were in Duisburg as well. Thanks for that opportunity and the interesting insights in your research, Prof. Tong Zhu!
