The second speaker from our own ranks is Professor Aiping Yu, who is currently a chemical engineering professor at the University of Waterloo. With her research she has already made significant contributions to the field of nanomaterials and energy storage.

In her talk on “Engineering 2D Nanomaterials for Batteries and Supercapacitors” she outlined the breadth and quality of her research activities, which led to over ten patents, 240 publications in peer-reviewed journals, and a few spin-off companies in Ontario.
